They want a hands on leader to implement stronger OEE and KPI measurements and be entrepreneurial with the employees to groom and coach the team members.
Position Scope, Responsibilities, and Activities
Responsible for managing all aspects of Plant Operations and the P&L for the Plant. This includes, production, maintenance, packaging, shipping receiving, quality, and Safety. The Plant Manager is responsible each day for the achievement of all KPI goals and objectives set by the senior management team. The Plant Manager is also responsible for fostering a teamwork environment, developing, and mentoring employees, performing evaluations and corrective actions, and holding plant members accountable for performance. T
Evaluate and implement clear goals, KPI measurements and objectives to drive the plant towards a continuous improvement
Attack and resolve KPI shortfalls immediately with urgency utilizing data, investigation, and teamwork.
Utilize and implement Lean Manufacturing tools, data, to drive continuous improvement goals of eliminating waste and increasing OEE metrics
Responsible for employee safety and P&L, KPI and profitability results while maintaining the highest food safety and quality standards and on time customer deliveries.
Identify high performing employees for succession planning and promotion while hiring, training, mentoring, and terminating nonperforming employees.
Communicate with Sr management on issues, performance, and strategy, KPI achievement, operations performance, and plan to attack and resolve issues and KPI shortfalls.
Drive teamwork and culture change towards a teamwork and continuous improvement culture by implementing team goals, accountability and driving towards improvement.
Drive an atmosphere or teamwork and accountability.
Control production costs, establish and manage production budgets, and implement cost control programs as part of continuous improvement.
Work with QA and understand and monitor micro and food safety measures to ensure compliance with all QA and regulatory goals and standards.
Guide the maintenance team and plan maintenance best practices to insure optimum run time and OEE goals.
Implement best practices on continuous improvement measures to save $, improve efficiencies, safety and quality.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
10+ years’ experience in Plant Operations Management and Plant Management role in a food manufacturing facility - prefer ready to eat or frozen foods but will consider others.
At least 5 years as a Plant Manager – 10 years is a target. Demonstrated management experience coaching, training, advancing a workforce.
4 year college degree in Engineering, Business or other - will consider Associate's or no degree with commensurate experience.
Keen Analytical skills – Analyze and reporting on KPI goals and OEE goals and making recommendations on best path to achievement. Daily analysis and acting on measurements and data
Strong understanding of Food safety, Sanitation, HACCP and FDA regulations – expertise in understanding Micro issues salmonella, listeria etc.
Understanding of Plant Automation, Maintenance, throughput and preventative predictive maintenance implementation and measurements
Experience working with a diverse workforce, training, mentoring and holding team members accountable for performance.
